Custom Rules
Monkey Kong onlySubmit your custom rule idea via league settings. Lead times and limits are real, and we want to be straight with you about what's on the table.
Lead time
Minimum 3 weeks before draft date. Submit late and we'll push to next season.
Limit
One submission per Monkey Kong league per season.
What we typically accept (1-3 day turnaround on review)
- Tweaks to existing scoring rules (e.g., "QB rushing TD = 8 pts instead of 6")
- New milestone bonuses (e.g., "+3 bonus for 30+ point performances")
- New per-position overrides (e.g., "WR receptions worth 1.5 PPR")
- New tiebreaker rules for standings or playoffs
- Custom keeper or dynasty contract structures
- Custom playoff bracket configurations (e.g., 4-team round-robin instead of single-elim)
- New stat categories — IF the underlying data is available from our stats provider (we'll tell you upfront)
What we typically push to next season or decline (with reasoning)
- →Brand-new game mechanics outside the 181-category framework (e.g., "QB swap mid-game", "salary cap that fluctuates per quarter")
- →Rules requiring data we don't have (e.g., college stats, real-time play-by-play, snap counts beyond what's in our feed)
- →Multi-player conditional logic that doesn't map to our schema (e.g., "player can only score in their secondary position once a week")
- →Daily fantasy mechanics — we're a season-long platform, not DFS
- →Anything involving real money between league members — we don't handle dues or escrow
What we'll always do
- Reply within 3 business days of submission with: accepted as-is, accepted with modifications, or declined with specific reason
- Test the rule in a sandbox league before deploying to your league
- Document the rule in your league settings so all members can see exactly how it scores
What we can't promise
- ×Same-season delivery for late submissions
- ×Implementation of a rule that conflicts with the scoring engine architecture
- ×Custom rules carrying forward to non-Monkey-Kong seasons (your league downgrades to Silverback → custom rule reverts to nearest standard equivalent)
